Conditions Treated

Your dogs diagnosed condition, observed response to treatment and your feedback will allow us to deliver an individualised treatment program. Patients with conditions that may affect them long term, often benefit from a maintenance programme including hydrotherapy and physiotherapy in order to improve their function in day-to-day life.

Hydrotherapy is a safe and effective treatment which is commonly used to treat dogs with:

  • Cranial Cruciate Ligament

  • Hip Dysplasia

  • Elbow Dysplasia

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Osteochondrosis Dissecans (OCD)

  • Luxating Patella

  • Muscle Strains and Ruptures

  • Obesity/Weight Management

  • Intervertebral Disc Disease

  • CDRM(Chronic Degenerative Radiculo Myelopathy)

  • Cervical Spondylopathy (Wobblers)

  • Fibrocartilaginous Embolism(FCE)

Hydrotherapy and physiotherapy are commonly used in a number of different rehabilitation situations:

  • Post-operatively in a surgical rehabilitation situation

  • As part of a conservative management plan

  • Pre-surgery in cases where conditioning or weight management need improvement for a successful surgical outcome

Please get in touch with us to discuss your dog’s situation and how an Active Paws Rehabilitation Program will be of benefit.
